Written Response Guidelines
When answering a question we need to include the following:
(This could also be adjusted to be used for any subject.)
Example Question:
Explain how the title of the story supports an important idea from the text. Use details from the story to support your answer.
1. Restate the question.
Ex: The title of the story supports the important idea, that nature is important in our everyday lives, from the text by using descriptive words.
2. Include text evidence.
Ex: The author states on page 14, "Nature is beautiful, and we need to take care of it in order to survive." I know that the author wouldn't use those words unless he didn't think nature was important.
3. Include personal feelings/relate the question to yourself.(this should relate to step one of your answer).
Ex. I know that nature is important and beautiful. I really get to see nature's beauty when I go camping with my family.
